Privacy policy

This site is built to process as little data as technically possible. There are no cookies, no tracking and no embedded third-party services. That is why there is no consent banner either.

This is a translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung. In case of doubt, the German version is authoritative.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

2. What this site does not do

  • It sets no cookies, neither first-party nor third-party.
  • It uses no analytics or tracking tools.
  • It loads no fonts, scripts, maps or videos from external servers. In particular, no Google Fonts are embedded; the Inter and Fraunces typefaces are served from the same server as the site.
  • It has no contact form and no registration.
  • It performs no profiling and no automated decision-making.

The absence of third-party data flows is verified mechanically on every build: a script aborts the build as soon as any file would load a resource from an external domain.

3. Server log files

When this site is accessed, the hosting provider automatically stores access data in log files. This is technically necessary in order to deliver the site at all. What is recorded is typically:

  • the IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • the address requested and the volume of data transferred
  • the server status response
  • browser type and operating system, and the referring page where transmitted

Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically correct operation and the security of the website.

Retention: log files are rotated automatically by the hosting provider and deleted shortly afterwards. They are not evaluated for analytics or marketing purposes and are not combined with any other data.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

The servers are located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider, who processes the data listed under section 3 solely on instruction, for the purpose of serving the website.

5. Encryption

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted.

6. Contact by email

If you write to us, your details are stored in order to handle the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). The data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention periods apply.

7. External links

This site links in places to external websites, for example to image sources and licence texts. Those links are only followed when you click them. No data is transmitted to the linked providers beforehand. Their data processing is their own responsibility.

8. Your rights

You have the following rights in relation to the controller:

  • access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is:

9. Changes
